On this week’s radio show, I’ll be playing a new song by the brilliant Québécois band Le Diable à Cinq – “Mes chums irlandais / My Irish Buddies.” In their own words, it is “a festive new single highlighting the deep bonds between Quebec and Ireland. As a nod to the Irish influence on Quebecois culture, the track features two well-known traditional reels, “Morning Dew” and “Julia Delaney’s,” infused with the group’s signature fiery energy.” They have produced a super fun video for the song, which is linked below. And I’m very excited to hear that this is the lead single from their new album – ‘Indomptable’ – which is set to be released on May 15th, 2026. I’ve been lucky enough to see the band a couple of time in the past few years at the Folk Alliance International conference and they are amazing live performers. If you ever have the chance to see them, do it!
